Managing Booking Options and Rules

Booking options and rules are your business rules that control how musicians can make bookings at your studio. We're proud to say that we have done our best to make the system as easy as possible but also as flexible as possible to give you the chance to replicate the rules you have in place right now.

You have to add at least one option if you want to allow musicians to book at your studio.

What is a Booking Option?

A booking option represents the high level of how musicians can book at your studio. You can add several booking rules to each option (see below) that control how musicians can book. A common example would be having different rules for weekday bookings and weekend bookings.

You have to add at least one booking option if you want musicians to make bookings at your studio. The main fields are

  • Name - the way you want this booking option to be displayed on your profile
  • Description - a short description or summary for this rule
  • Available Days - define which days this option should be available
  • Base and Peak Price - define the prices to be used for off and on peak bookings

What is a Booking Rule?

A booking rule controls how a musician can book for the booking option it's assigned to. Every booking option can have several rules. You could for example define rules like "A musician has to book at least 2 hours" or "A musician can only book 2 days ahead".

You can add as many rules as you want, however there are a few things to remember:

  1. We recommend to keep your system as simple as possible to avoid confusion for musicians and make the booking experience as simple as possible.
  2. You can add rules that execute either all day, only during off peak or only during peak time. If you decided to add an all day rule to a booking option, you will only be able to add more all day rules. If you chose to add a "only during peak" rule, you would then only be able to add more "only during peak" or "only during off peak" rules.

Managing your booking options and rules

Adding, editing and deleting booking options

To add a booking option:

  1. Log in to Bookaspace
  2. Navigate to Settings -> Booking Options
  3. Click "Add Booking Option"
  4. Define your option
  5. Click "Save"

To edit a booking option:

  1. Find the booking option you want to edit
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Make the changes you want to make
  4. Click "Save"

To delete a booking option:

  1. Find the booking option you want to delete
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Click "Delete"
  4. Click "Confirm"

Adding a rule:

  1. Find the option you want to add a rule for
  2. Click "Manage Rules"
  3. Click "Add Rule"
  4. Define your Rule
  5. Click "save"

Editing a rule:

  1. Find the rule you want to edit
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Make the changes you want to make
  4. Click "Save"

Deleting a rule:

  1. Find the rule you want to delete
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Click "Delete"
  4. Click "Confirm"
